I was just reading 1 Cor 16 today, and I was sruck by how the saints in Corinth, Achaia, and Macedonia responded to the report that the saints in Jerusalem were struggling. If you want the full effect, read 2 Cor 8-9 to see how Gentile Christians looked past ethnic, national and cultural distinctions to render aid to the Jewish Christians in Jerusalem. They gave, not in response to an apostolic edict, but out of the overflow of love for their brethren. That is the perfect reflection of the love of Christ for His Church, love overflowing rather than dispersed by measure. Christian giving is to be measured, not by the standard of "how much do I need to give in order to be obedient, or to be blessed," but by the measure of the love of Christ which passes knowledge.elderdxchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18071222328972267419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17975898.post-77786175787007511582011-09-13T12:09:24.144-07:002011-09-13T12:09:24.144-07:00Delwyn,

And even though people in the Bible days gave of their possessions people have jobs and so the model has changed. <br />However, you cannot buy your way into heaven or even buy luck. The Lord blesses us with Love. Thanks for your perspective.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
